Erwin de Vries (Paramaribo 1929 – Paramaribo 2018)

Driven by feminine beauty and eroticism, he created flamboyant and colorful compositions that reflected his multicultural background.

With powerful brush strokes he captured female curves, sensuality and life energy. He worked realistic and abstract.

An important milestone in his career was the construction of the Slavery Monument, in the Oosterpark in Amsterdam, revealed by Queen Beatrix on July 1, 2002.
